SOLAR POWERED ENERGY

"FREE FROM THE SUN"

Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable energy source available. Modern technology can harness this energy for a variety of uses, including generating electricity, providing light or a comfortable interior environment, and in this case, providing positive airflow into your attic to prevent high temperatures, humidity and elevated moisture levels that can bring about costly problems such as mold. Solar power panels is produced by collecting sunlight and converting it into electricity. This is done by using solar panels installation, which are large flat panels made up of many individual solar cells.

In South Florida, where the climate is warm and only getting hotter, the mean average temperature (AMT) in July 2017 was 85.8 degrees Fahrenheit. This is the highest AMT ever recorded in South Florida history.  During these summer months and throughout the year, your attic is constantly receiving direct heat from the sun causing it to exceed temperatures of 150° Fahrenheit. High attic temperatures could bring about many additional problems to your home such as decreasing the lifespan of your home's shingles and enabling mold growth, moisture and humidity problems.

Several companies have found alternate measures to ventilate attics and crawlspaces, but they all use electric power -- which discourages many homeowners due to high increases in their utility bills. At Solar Airflow leading solar panel installation Miami, installing solar panels Miami, we enable you to ventilate your attic without hurting your pockets and utilizing all-natural energy from the SUN!

What is the purpose of an attic?

In a hot climate like Miami, South Florida’s, the primary purpose of an attic is to expel solar heated hot air from the attic to lower the power HVAC systems have to use to cool your home. In most cases, the amount of cooling provided to the attic is very small.

How does attic ventilation help keep your house cool?

When your attic is properly ventilated, your HVAC system uses less power and energy. This means that your cooling system can utilize more solar power to ventilate the inside of your home and maintain cool temperature levels throughout.

How does improper ventilation bring about problems such as mold?

When your attic isn’t properly ventilated, the hot stagnant air inside of it mixes with the colder air and it’s brought up by your home’s cooling system creating condensation and moisture. Moisture is one of the (3) components needed for mold to begin thriving and attics are built with cellulose rich materials that are organic proteins for mold to feed off.

Why are static attic vents and conventional attic exhausts inefficient?

Static attic vents which include soffit vents and ridge vents very minimally aid attic temperatures but are often ineffective and attic temperatures could still exceed 150° F. On the other hand, conventional attic exhausts as well as wind turbines can pull hot moist air out of specific areas, but the cool and dry air is not able to reach most of the ceiling area located on the bottom and center of the attic where it’s most importantly needed to keep the living area cool. Conventional exhaust fans also pull air conditioned air through gaps and cracks through the ceiling which cause hot and moist air to enter the home through windows, doors, and floors. Even if your attic may seem cooler when these fans are running, it’s most probably because your air-conditioned air is being pulled into your attic which subsequently costs you more money since your A/C unit needs to use more power to cool the living area.
